There are lots of DIY pregnancy tests that are getting online resurgence. One of these tests is the Salt Pregnancy test.
Although medical experts declare that these types of test are not accurate, but many bloggers and YouTubers say the opposite.
Whether it’s accurate or not, let’s explain how does this test work.
The salt pregnancy test requires two ingredients only which are salt and urine.
You’re supposed to mix these two ingredients together in a clean bowl.
The supporters of this test claim that if the woman is pregnant, then the salt will react with a hormone called HCG. This hormone (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) enters the bloodstream and the urine of a pregnant woman after the embryo implants in her uterus.
HCG is the same hormone that is detected when using the medical pregnancy tests that are brought from drugstores.
How to detect if the salt pregnancy test is positive?
After mixing one or two tablespoons of salt with a sample your morning urine, you are required to wait for few minutes or even few hours.
The test will be positive if the urine turns milky or cheesy.
However, if the appearance of the mixture remained the same then the test is negative.
